At this level, students are taking their first steps in learning Spanish. They have a very basic command of the language, so activities should allow them to communicate in simple everyday situations without requiring excessive improvisation. The teacher should guide the communicative process in a structured and clear way.
Question deck:
Students create simple questions and answers on specific topics (for example: typical foods, greetings, or daily routines). The teacher reviews and adapts the questions. Afterwards, various activities are carried out: competitions, reading aloud, exchanging questions among classmates, etc. This allows students to practice basic structures in a controlled manner.
Role-plays:
Very simple everyday situations are proposed (going to a store, introducing oneself, asking for information), and students prepare short dialogues in writing, which they then perform in class. This promotes both oral and written expression and enables them to cope in basic communicative contexts.
Vocabulary games and activities:
Working with fundamental vocabulary is a priority at this level. Techniques such as brainstorming are used so that students can share words they already know or find familiar. This fosters collaborative learning from the start and helps students gain confidence in their learning process.
Identifies basic information in announcements, instructions, and slow, clear conversations.
Recognizes greetings, prices, schedules, and personal information in everyday contexts.
Understands very short texts (posters, simple emails, forms).
Locates concrete and predictable information in familiar materials.
Uses simple and memorized phrases to introduce oneself and answer personal questions.
Participates in short, controlled exchanges on familiar topics.
Writes simple, connected sentences using basic structures (introductions, routines, very simple descriptions).
Uses limited vocabulary, with errors that do not hinder comprehension.
Asks for help or repeats when they do not understand.
Uses gestures or basic resources to mediate between languages or clarify meanings.
Don’t wait any longer to start speaking Spanish!

Question deck:
Similar to A1, but expanding topics (leisure habits, city descriptions, simple past experiences). Activities become more participatory, and the teacher encourages students to create their own questions without excessive correction.
Role-plays:
Contexts are expanded: requesting information at a tourist office, making a reservation, describing a simple medical problem, etc. The goal is for students to use a wider vocabulary and slightly more complex grammatical structures.

At this level, students are already able to participate in most everyday communicative situations and begin to face more formal or abstract contexts. The methodological approach prioritizes the development of communicative autonomy, argumentative skills, and linguistic reflection.
Brainstorming:
The teacher or the students propose a topic, and everyone contributes ideas, which are then collected and organized in a shared scheme. This activity stimulates opinion expression and critical thinking in the target language.
Expert Groups:
Students are divided into small groups to discuss different aspects of a topic. They then reorganize into new groups where each student must explain what they previously learned to the new group members, promoting comprehension and oral expression.
Reading and Text Analysis:
Students work with texts that require not only literal comprehension but also interpretation and analysis. Morphology, syntax, and other more complex linguistic aspects are addressed.
Oral Presentations:
Students prepare presentations on topics of interest and present them to their classmates, using audiovisual resources if desired. This activity develops the ability to structure ideas, argue, answer questions, and improves confidence in using Spanish.
Integration of Previous Activities:
Activities from previous levels (games, role-plays, guided questions) continue to be useful, adapted to the greater lexical and communicative complexity required at B1. Learning remains active and participatory, maintaining the playful component.
Understand the main points of clear conversations on familiar topics (work, leisure, travel).
Extract specific information from longer audio recordings, even with some noise or different accents.
Understand texts written in standard language (personal letters, simple news articles, descriptions).
